The drive from Kristiansand to Bergen to see Spangereid, Helleren and Hafrsfjord.

The drive from Kristiansand to Bergen is 8 hours and 470 km if you drove direct. However, it took my parents and I much longer only because we stopped to see some scenic sights along the coast which resulted in much slower driving conditions. The first stop was Spangereid along the E39 highway to see the “Under” Restaurant–the world’s largest underwater restaurant. Then another 3.5 hours to Helleren to see the “houses under a rock”. (Highly recommended)! Then onto Hafrsfjord to see where the Battle of Hafrespjord was fought between 872 and 900. There we were also able to see the infamous “swords in the rock”.
