The city of Karasjok, Norway

Karasjok is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Karasjok. The village has a population of 2,600 people and is located right off the E6 freeway as I was driving up to Hammerfest. The village had a number of other smaller villages including Dorvonjárga, Šuoššjávri, and Váljohka. All of these cities have a history that is incredibly sad from WW11. The German Nazis occupied this part of Norway during the war with thousands of Yugoslavian prisoners’ were executed. Many of these death concentration camps are documented online and via monuments to those who perished. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_concentration_camps_in_Norwayhttps://www.thelocal.no/20131106/norwegian-camps-guards-shocked-ss-with-brutality
