Kristiansund, Norway and a visit to the location of the battle of Rastarkalv in 955 AD

Kristiansund is a municipality on the western coast of Norway in the Nordmøre district of Møre og Romsdal county with a population of 25,000 people. It’s the city closest to Averoy and one of my favorite cities in Norway. If you need to buy a large ticket item, you’ll most likely find what you’re looking for here. There is a lot of history to this city for which I would like to describe here. During the Viking Ages there were many important battles around Kristiansund. The most famous one was the Battle of Rastarkalv in the year 955 AD. It was there where the Norwegian King Hakon the Good fought against the Eirikssønnene group. There is now a memorial monument located near Rastakalv. More about this city can be found here: https://www.lifeinnorway.net/kristiansund-small-town-big-personality/
