Greetings and thank you for visiting my webpage. I decided I wanted to create my own portal to showcase my love for two countries–the USA and Norway. I was born in the USA with Norwegian parts. My grandfather, Ole Peder, immigrated to the USA in 1925. I have had a fascination with Norway since I was a boy. Since then, I have traveled between the USA and Norway at least 85 times. I have seen every corner of Norway multiple times. I am still meeting my hundreds of second cousins (thanks to Facebook). I hope this blog will allow me to blog stories of my travel experiences but also more importantly share my heritage to larger audience who might not be on social media.

I currently live in Vancouver, Washington. I have an MBA and the next challenge will be a PhD in the near future. First, i would like to continue my research into my Norwegian family tree that dates back to 1500. I will write extensively on this subject as I continue to uncover more details about why so many Americans with Norwegian heritage are interested in going back to their motherland. Is it because of Norway’s riches or is it because the Norwegian people are so trusting and have such huge hearts. I would argue the later.

I have traveled to 119 countries around the world. You will find me on an island, ancient church, museum or exploring a rain forest before you will ever find me shopping in a mall. I love the idea of seeing third world countries and visiting and living in the most rural of locations. This is one of the reasons why I am starting Pride Travel Norge travel agency in the Fall, 2021.

In the case something might happen to me (who knows there’s no promise of a tomorrow), I have paid for the webservices to through 2035 so generations from the USA with Norwegian ancestory can begin to research their homeland. I highly recommend you get involved locally with the Sons of Norway. More information can be found at: https://join.sofn.com/ There you can learn more about the Norwegian culture and meet others in your community who share your love for this incredible country.

My friend Elin in Oslo knitted this cap for me. If you recognize the lettering–its the lettering of my favorite Norwegian chocolate. Thank you, Elin!! <3
