Celebrating Norway’s mushers at the Iditorad Dog Sled Race in Anchorage

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is an annual long-distance sled dog race run in early March from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska which is about 938 miles and takes between 8-15 days. I have attended this Dog Sled race for 20 years mainly because my mom loved going and with my dad and siblings not interested in going–I went to accompany my mother. The race is entirely within the US state of Alaska and mushers and a team of 14 dogs race to the finish line in Nome. I have closely followed the Norwegian mushers year after year. Here’s a few of them below. You can follow the race here: https://iditarod.com/

A huge congratulations to Thomas Waerner, of Norway, who was the 2020 Iditarod winner. Thomas arrived into Nome Wednesday morning at 12:37am with a finishing time of 9 days, 10 hours and 37 minutes. Here’s the story! I couldn’t be more excited for Norway and for Thomas!! https://www.adn.com/outdoors-adventure/iditarod/2020/03/18/thomas-waerner-of-norway-earns-his-first-iditarod-win/
