My Norwegian Genealogy

I have been very interested in my family history in Norway. Genealogy really is the study of families, family history, and the tracing of our lineages. I have tried to use oral interviews, historical records, genetic analysis, and other records to obtain information about my Norwegian family background. I have found data that goes back to 1500 so far. My Norwegian family was Aae and were primarily located in the Averoy/Kristiansund/Molde areas of Norway. I have had the distinct pleasure of interviewing family members to identify the family tree that goes back to my great-great-great grandparents who were born in 1797-1798 (Tomas Paulsen Slatlem and Elisabeth Folland). Interesting, Elisabeth survived an avalanche in 1830 in Averoy. I’m glad she survived or I would not be here today. My grandfather, Ole Peder, immigrated to the USA in 1925. Today there are hundreds of Americans who were born with Norwegian heritage. This history is especially important for me as well as my extended American family to understand our family roots. Below is a rough draft of my Norwegian family tree. I have much more work to do on this project.

With my fathers cousin and my second cousins as they put together a history of my Norwegian family <3
